A personalized experience

With a cleaner and more visual experience, you can focus on the content that matters most to you. It’s now easier to understand your personal health information, create and manage wellness goals for yourself and track your progress.

The Balance platform’s mobile design has been updated to create a better, more responsive experience on all your devices. You’ll now be able to easily track and manage your wellness journey, wherever you are.

Easier navigation

The information and resources you need are now right at your fingertips, meaning you can quickly and accurately find what you’re looking for.

Integration with more fitness trackers

You’re now able to use more wearable fitness trackers with the Balance platform, including all trackers from Fitbit, Garmin, Misfit and Wear OS by Google. You can track your steps and sleep automatically, have them count towards your Balance trackers and earn reward points to spend on prize draws.

Already have a Balance profile? You don’t have to worry about losing your current Balance points or data—all information will automatically be transferred. The only thing you’ll need to do is reconnect your Fitbit if you’ve been using a Fitbit to track your steps in Balance.

As always, user privacy and security are top priorities for the Balance platform. Individual user data has not been or will ever be shared with any group, whether it’s employers, the government or even Alberta Blue Cross.

    I have a question: As my Blue Cross Group 1 plan will stop covering the Lantus insulin I use what should I be using instead? When will the change come into effect?

  • Hi Sylvia, we believe this is a change Alberta Blue Cross is implementing on behalf of Alberta Health. Any concerns about the program, including the scheduling and transition period, should be directed to Alberta Health. We do not have control over which drugs fall under this program. In virtually all cases, the generics are just as effective as the brand name drugs. Thank you!

    Balance will not sync with my Fitbit – in fact none of the tracker icons on the linking page work. Also it would have been nice to have been notified by email that we had to re-link these again – I just found it by chance.
