This spring, Alberta Blue Cross® is pleased to partner with Alberta’s Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in the fourth annual Get Out, Get Active (GOGA) challenge. Join us in getting more active this spring and you’ll also have the opportunity to win some great prizes!

The Get Out, Get Active (GOGA) Challenge is a free, six-week event running from April 24 to June 4, 2017. This event is open to everyone—no matter your age, fitness level or ability.

Participating is easy:

  1. Join as a team or individual (everyone is welcome).
  2. Record daily physical activity in the interactive and easy–to-use dashboard.
  3. Over the six weeks, watch your “GOGA character” transform from “sick to healthy” before your eyes.

The activity tracking tool will help you enter and view your progress, view team results, earn achievements and do much more. Plus, you will actively see your GOGA character transform from a zombie to a superhero as you enter in your activity.

GOGA also teamed up with several fitness facilities in locations across Alberta to bring you an exclusive offer. During the challenge, participating facilities are offering an opportunity for you to get out and get active at some of their select locations.

We are facing a physical activity crisis in Alberta and across Canada. Less than five per cent of children and 15 per cent of adults are meeting the recommendations in Canada’s Physical Activity Guidelines. The GOGA Challenge is a great way to encourage everyone to get moving after a long winter of often sedentary behaviors.

Alberta Blue Cross® is extremely excited to partner with the PCNs for this challenge. If you still think you’re too cool to participate, as one of the groups providing some of the prizes, we can confidently tell you that there are some very neat prizes being given away that you don’t want to miss out on. So don’t wait, sign up today.
