Claim payments are now available the next business day.
We know that the best experience is when your claim is paid at the time of service. This is the case 94 per cent of the time with Alberta Blue Cross®, but sometimes direct billing isn’t available. For those times, we have a new solution. We can appreciate that when you make a claim, you’re paying out of pocket and you want your money back as soon as possible.
Our updated process ensures that when you submit a claim before 5 p.m. MT, payment will go out to your bank account the next business day, provided there are no delays by your bank.
What does this mean for you?
- Less time waiting for your money.
- Peace of mind when you make claims.
- Increased convenience and ease.
Not set up for direct deposit? Head to our member site, click on ‘Profile’ and select ‘Direct Deposit’.
It’s that simple.

Your message says that there is a faster way to submit a claim. But there is nothing in your message that states the way. We are set up with direct deposit. Currently, we mail in our in our claims. However, this takes time. What is the faster way you mention?
Hi Zorica, instead of mailing in your claims you can submit them online by logging in to our member site. To submit your claim, select Submit claims online from the Your claims drop-down menu, select one of the benefit categories that match your claim and follow the step-by-step guide to submit your claim and receive reimbursement faster. Hope that helps!
Thank you Blue cross for all of your hard work to allow for faster claim submissions.
Thank you!
When claim was submitted, it says…
It takes about 10 business days to approve; once approved, most deposits are made within 2 business days
This post saying claim submitted by 5pm and deposit the following day is quite misleading.
