In April 2019, Alberta Blue Cross® made it easier for individual health plan customers to access their letters and bills on the member site—and they no longer have to wait for paper bills and letters to come in the mail. If you have an individual health plan and your email address is on file with us, you will now receive an email whenever a bill or letter is available for you to view on the member site.
We received positive feedback about this new feature and over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to make our member site even better. Effective November 1, 2019, all individual health plan customers can make payments online using a credit card or bank withdrawals and those payments are processed immediately.
If you’re an individual health plan customer, you can also use our member site and the Alberta Blue Cross® My Benefits app to
- choose whether you use a bank account or credit card for preauthorized payments;
- update your payment information, change your payment dates and preferred method of payment; and
- update your address.
Did you know that there is so much more you can do on our member site? Learn about the features available, including the ability to submit a claim online, check the status of claims, view or print a tax receipt, access our Balance® wellness program and upload documents to support existing claims.
These new features give you access to even more benefit information anywhere, at any time, on any device.
Your feedback is always appreciated—we are continuously looking at new ways to improve your online experience.

Please link to where I can “choose whether you use a…credit card for preauthorized payments.” I have searched the site and cannot find this. I would rather not wait on hold for an hour trying to find out how.

More information? The blog post says that as an “individual health plan customer, you can also use our member site” to “choose whether you use a…credit card for preauthorized payments.” Where do I find this on the member site, please?
Hi Michael, once you log in to the member site, along the top bar there is a menu that says ‘payments and letters’. In the drop down there is the option to do the below. Hope this helps! Thank you
Thank you!
I cancelled my Alberta Blue Cross and now I notice they took money from my account after the fact. Why??
Hi Shanon,
We’d be happy to look into this for you, please call 1-800-661-6995 to chat with one of our Customer Services representatives about it.
I could not find anywhere on the site where to make a payment online. I did a search and it came up with an info page only about how you now accept payments online, but don’t provide a link to it! Am I missing something? You should make the info a lot more clear on the home page.
Hi COlleen, thank you for your comment. We are currently looking into this and will get back to you.
