Faces of Wellness is back for its 5th year in 2025. We’re celebrating Albertans whose everyday actions inspire wellness in others—at work, home or in their communities.

Zachary Weeks, Sarah Fung, Jim Scott and Paul Wagman all share something powerful. Each of them turned personal challenges into ways to help others in the community. Their stories remind us that wellness means showing up and lifting others—again and again. As we launch Faces of Wellness 2025, we’re looking for the next group of Albertans whose stories deserve to be heard.

Faces of Wellness is a program that celebrates Albertans who help others live healthier lives through actions, support or advocacy.

Stories like Zachary’s, Sarah’s, Jim’s and Paul’s might not be known if they—or someone inspired by them—hadn’t shared them.

Meet some of 2024 honourees

In 2024, there were over 250 applicants and nominees.

Zachary, our 2024 grand prize recipient, was born with cerebral palsy. His life experiences made him a passionate voice for accessibility. He consulted on spaces like Rogers Place, advised the City of Edmonton on policy and worked to make communities safer and more inclusive.

Sarah, one of our 10 finalists in 2024, is an adult counsellor at the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton. She helps survivors of trauma heal. Her own journey with identity and heritage led her to start Queer Edmonton—a platform that connects and lifts up queer voices across the city.

Jim, also a finalist, is a longtime running coach. His volunteer work has helped more than 1,100 seniors stay active and build strength. He has coached and encouraged many to embrace healthy lifestyles through sobriety and helped them prepare for physical exams.

Paul Wagman, another finalist, is a former first responder. He founded Wayfinders Wellness Society to support others navigating mental health trauma. As Paul shares, “I hope that through sharing my story navigating mental health trauma that it will help others on their journey to wellness.”
